Tuesday Trivia, Round 2

Okay, this should be an easy one – no chance of a technical inaccuracy like last week.  Everyone knows the Apple /// was a colossal failure for Apple.  Even so, it still managed to make a few appearances on the big and little screen, probably the most famous of which was in 1982’s TRON (see last week’s Tuesday Trivia).  For a hundred geek creds (sorry, I don’t have anything else to offer), from what 1980s-era TV show was this screen capture of an Apple /// in action taken? (No sneaky Googling for it!)

I got nothing. The /// kinda slipped by while I was in college next door to “The Middle of Nowhere”.

@Ken – No. This show aired on the same network as St. Elsewhere, though it didn’t last as long.

Ooh, a hint! OK, an NBC show that ran for less than six years… I’ll have to think about that.

Hint: the show was briefly cancelled following its penultimate season, returning as a series of two-hour movies. The new format proved unpopular and the show was cancelled for good after its fifth and final season.

Okay, this hint will probably give it away. Both stars of this show were impacted by NBC’s decision to renew for a final season. The male lead lost a chance to take on the part of Britain’s most famous fictional MI6 agent in The Living Daylights, while his female counterpart was forced to give up her upcoming role as Alex J. Murphy’s partner, Officer Anne Lewis in the 1987 hit Robocop.

Remington Steele? (Yeah, the last bit gave it away but it does explain why I thought I could recognize the actress)

(I did give everyone else an hour to respond. I hope that was fair.)

We have a winner! Congratulations, @Wholly. I’ll have to dig a little deeper for the next one.
